HomeBathroomTrabuco Canyon Bathroom Remodel: A Complete Master and Hall Bathroom Transformation

Trabuco Canyon Bathroom Remodel: A Complete Master and Hall Bathroom Transformation

At Unique Kitchen & Baths, we don’t just renovate — we reimagine. This Trabuco Canyon bathroom remodel showcases how expert craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and attention to detail can turn ordinary spaces into refined, functional retreats.
For this project, we remodeled both the master bathroom and hall bathroom, each with its own design vision but unified by high-end materials, precise tilework, and timeless style. From expanding the master shower to installing elegant quartz countertops and modern exhaust systems, this remodel truly elevated the home’s comfort and value.

Master Bathroom Remodel in Trabuco Canyon

The master bathroom transformation was a complete reconfiguration of space — from the studs to the final polish. Our focus was on creating a spa-inspired retreat that balanced openness with comfort, using warm, natural tones and durable materials that will stand the test of time.

Demolition and Structural Rebuild

We began by completely gutting the space — removing the old shower tiles, shower pan, bathtub, vanity, and soffit above the vanity. The flooring in both the bathroom and closet was also demoed to prepare for new installation. Next, our team framed an expanded shower, widening it on both sides to create a more luxurious enclosure. We constructed a 42-inch pony wall next to the vanity, giving it a clean visual stop and architectural definition, and added another pony wall behind the new triangle bench for design balance and structure. The shower drain was centered and relocated, and the shower valve was adjusted accordingly, ensuring perfect symmetry and function.

Waterproofing, Cement Floating & Tile Perfection

No remodel is complete without a solid foundation — literally. We hot-mopped the shower pan for waterproof protection, then layered black paper and metal lath across the shower walls. From there, our craftsmen floated each wall with cement and leveled it by hand, creating a flawless base for tile installation. On the walls and pony walls, we installed AZT Invictus Beige Polished 24x48 porcelain tile, a bold yet elegant choice that reflects light beautifully. For the shower pan, we used AZT Long Ruamboid Shibusa Crema 3x4, which adds dynamic texture underfoot. The floor was finished with AZT Invictus Beige Matte 12x24 tile, tying the design together in a soft, seamless palette.

Vanity, Countertop & Custom Finishes

Every luxury bathroom deserves a centerpiece — and this one shines with a custom vanity setup. We installed an Impress Cabinet Genesis Weathered Oak vanity, providing both function and timeless appeal. The vanity was topped with ES Fantasy Gold quartz countertops, fabricated and installed to perfection. The combination of warm woodgrain and golden veining creates a balanced, sophisticated aesthetic. We installed the customer-provided sinks, faucets, and shower trims, blending them seamlessly into the overall design.

Lighting, Ventilation & Finishing Details

To improve air quality and comfort, we installed a new exhaust fan in the toilet room and another exhaust fan above the shower and vanity area. The drywall was replaced and retextured where the old soffit and tub were removed, followed by smooth patching, painting, and the installation of new baseboards for a refined finish. A frameless shower glass door completed the space, highlighting the craftsmanship of the tilework inside while maintaining a modern, open look. (Electrical work in this space was handled by others.)

Hall Bathroom Remodel in Trabuco Canyon

The hall bathroom remodel was all about functionality with elegance — blending durability, soft tones, and modern fixtures for a cohesive look that complements the master bath.

Demolition & Wall Preparation

We started by removing the existing shower wall tiles, vanity, and flooring, while carefully protecting the bathtub for reuse. Once cleared, our team installed a new single-function shower valve and reinforced the shower structure for longevity.

Cement Floating and Tile Installation

As always, we used our signature waterproofing approach — black paper and metal lath on the shower walls, followed by cement floating for a level, durable surface. The shower walls were tiled with AZT Invictus Ivory Polished 24x48 porcelain, creating a smooth, bright surface that expands the feel of the space. For the shower pan and bathroom floors, we installed AZT Invictus Ivory Matte 12x24 tile, providing a cohesive, slip-resistant foundation.

Vanity & Countertop Installation

We supplied and installed another Impress Cabinet Genesis Weathered Oak vanity, echoing the warmth of the master bath. Topped with ES Calacatta Giada quartz, the countertop introduces subtle veining that pairs beautifully with the ivory tones of the room. We installed customer-provided sinks, faucets, and shower trims, ensuring every finish was perfectly aligned and sealed.

Ventilation & Final Touches

A new exhaust fan was installed to maintain proper ventilation and prevent humidity buildup. We patched, textured, and repainted the walls to refresh the space and installed new baseboards to complete the design. Unlike the master bath, this bathroom did not include a shower glass door — keeping it open and functional for everyday use. (Electrical work for this bathroom was also completed by others.)

A Cohesive Transformation from Top to Bottom

What makes this Trabuco Canyon bathroom remodel special is the harmony between both spaces. The use of consistent materials — from AZT Invictus tile to Genesis Weathered Oak cabinetry — creates a flow that connects the home’s design while allowing each room to express its own character.

At Unique Kitchen & Baths, we combine technical expertise with creative vision, ensuring every remodel not only looks beautiful but performs beautifully too.
