Full Kitchen Remodel in OC by Unique Kitchen & Baths

Kitchen Demolition
The first step in any remodeling project is preparing the space. In this kitchen remodel, we made sure to protect the rest of the home while we worked. We provided plastic floor coverings from the entrance of the house all the way to the kitchen area, ensuring that no dirt or debris would spread into the other rooms. To further protect the space, we added plastic coverings to the kitchen entrance, securing them with soft tape.
Once the space was properly protected, we proceeded with the demolition phase. This included disconnecting and removing the existing faucet, dishwasher, disposal, and fridge (which was kept safe for reinstallation). We also demoed and removed the existing cabinets, countertops, and backsplash, leaving a clean canvas for the new design to take shape.
Plumbing Upgrades
With the demo phase complete, it was time to update the plumbing. We installed a new pipeline for the sink to ensure everything would be properly connected for optimal flow. Additionally, we replaced the angle valves to ensure better control over the water flow. We also installed the customer-provided faucet and disposal. For an added touch of modernity, we connected the existing fridge and dishwasher, keeping these essential appliances safe and functional throughout the remodel. Lastly, we installed the customer-provided induction cooktop, giving the kitchen a sleek and energy-efficient upgrade.
Electrical Upgrades
Electrical upgrades are just as important as the design updates when remodeling a kitchen. We provided and installed five new outlets in the kitchen, as well as upgraded two GFCIs for safety. Additionally, we upgraded four outlets and replaced three switches, ensuring the electrical system was as modern and functional as possible.
To enhance the lighting in the space, we provided and installed one dimmer to adjust the ambiance as needed. We also installed the customer-provided hood and microwave, both of which integrated seamlessly into the new kitchen layout.
Custom Cabinetry
The centerpiece of this kitchen remodel is the custom cabinetry. We installed 43 RTA cabinets selected by the customer after finalizing the computer design rendering. The cabinets were designed with both style and functionality in mind. Notably, the wall corner cabinet did not include a glass panel, ensuring a sleek, modern look. We also provided and installed eight pantry roll-outs to maximize storage and make the most out of the available space. Cabinet handles were installed to match the overall design and complement the kitchen’s aesthetic.
Countertops & Backsplash
A kitchen remodel is incomplete without stunning countertops and backsplash. We fabricated and installed two slabs of customer-selected quartz countertops with a $600 allowance, providing both durability and elegance. The quartz selected was both functional and aesthetically pleasing, creating a cohesive, modern look throughout the kitchen.
We also installed an undermount sink (with a $500 allowance), which provides a clean and sleek finish.
Next, we turned our attention to the backsplash. We installed 21 square feet of customer-selected porcelain backsplash (with a $15/sq. ft. allowance). The combination of modern porcelain tiles and sleek design added texture and character to the kitchen, bringing a sophisticated touch to the space.
Final Touches
Once the countertops and backsplash were in place, we moved on to the finishing touches. We installed the customer-provided oven and ensured it was properly connected and functional. We also addressed the drywall, patching and texturing the selected areas. Once everything was in place, we painted the kitchen walls and ceiling, leaving the dining room walls untouched. The fresh coat of paint helped bring the entire kitchen together and added a polished, clean look.
