Complete Bathroom Remodel in Irvine CA

Recently, we completed a full bathroom remodel in Irvine CA, transforming an outdated hall bathroom into a luxurious retreat. From the floor to the ceiling, we provided everything from new flooring, upgraded plumbing, custom cabinetry, to beautiful shower tiling and lighting solutions. Every detail was meticulously designed and executed to create a spa-like bathroom that blends style and practicality.
Bathroom Demolition and Preparation
Before we could begin transforming this bathroom, we had to start with a comprehensive demolition. We carefully provided and installed plastic floor coverings that extended from the entrance of the house all the way to the bathroom area to protect the surrounding space. We ensured that no debris would spread to other parts of the house by securing plastic coverings on the entrance of the bathroom area, using soft tape to keep everything in place.
Once the area was secured and protected, we proceeded with the demolition, which involved removing the existing toilet (which was kept safe for reinstallation), floor tiles, vanity cabinet, vanity countertop, and existing vanity light. Additionally, we removed the bathtub and made adjustments to the shower area to accommodate a larger shower width, ensuring a more spacious and comfortable feel.
Framing the New Shower
With the demolition completed, we framed the new shower space, giving it a much-needed upgrade. We framed a new shower with a dam, which was designed to a 5” width (or 6” width, if necessary). We also incorporated a shower bench for added comfort and functionality. To ensure safety, we added backing for a grab bar. We framed a new shampoo box with dimensions of 16” in height and 14” in width, which was positioned behind the toilet room. This provided additional storage space for shower essentials, making the shower area more organized. To ensure an optimal shower experience, we installed a customer-provided double function shower valve and a square drain. After hot-mopping the shower pan to provide a durable base, we proceeded with tiling and grouting the shower walls and pan.
High-Quality Materials for a Luxurious Look and Feel
To elevate the design of the bathroom, we selected high-quality materials that both functioned beautifully and looked stunning. For the shower walls, we installed 12 x 24 porcelain tiles from ELY Marshall Blue – Polished (with an allowance of $6.00 per square foot). The shampoo box tile was chosen from WPT Oceans – Black Pearl Waterfall, adding an eye-catching design element to the space.
We also installed porcelain tiles from Unicorn Tile – Sage Grey Mix 2” Hexagon for the shower pan (with an allowance of $5.00 per square foot). The mix grout was combined with sealant to protect the tiles and ensure long-lasting beauty.
Custom Vanity and Countertop Installation
The custom vanity installation was designed to be both beautiful and functional. We provided and installed a 38” customer-selected vanity cabinet in Navy Blue, made from Granada Shaker Beech Espresso. The vanity was equipped with three drawers on the left, providing ample storage space. On top of the vanity, we installed a 40” quartz countertop (with a $375 allowance), specifically the Granada QHD - F178 material, which blended beautifully with the overall design of the bathroom. To complete the vanity setup, we installed a rectangular sink and customer-provided vanity faucet, ensuring both durability and elegance. We also attached customer-provided vanity handles to the cabinet, adding the perfect finishing touch.
Electrical and Lighting Upgrades
Lighting plays a vital role in enhancing the look and feel of any room. To ensure that this bathroom would feel bright and welcoming, we provided and installed three 6” wide LED can lights, providing excellent illumination throughout the space.
We upgraded the electrical system by installing 1 GFCI outlet on the left side of the vanity, along with an additional outlet for an electric mirror and a dimmer switch for adjustable lighting. To complement the lighting, we replaced three switches and provided a new exhaust fan light, ensuring both comfort and efficiency.
Additional Touches for a Polished, Functional Space
To bring the room together, we focused on the final touches that would make this bathroom remodel truly special. We installed custom baseboards (10 LF), ensuring the room had a clean and finished look. We also patched and textured the drywall where needed, making sure the walls were smooth and ready for paint. For an elegant and functional storage solution, we installed the customer-provided medicine cabinet, which added both style and organization to the space. We also installed a grab bar and a toilet shelf above the toilet, providing added convenience and functionality. Finally, we completed the space by painting the bathroom walls, skylight, ceiling, and baseboards, creating a fresh, polished finish that ties the entire design together.
