Completed Mission Viejo master bathroom with White Shaker vanity, Jacuzzi tub, and porcelain tile Rebuilt Jacuzzi tub surround and custom glass shower in Mission Viejo master bathroom Before and after Mission Viejo master bathroom remodel

Master Bathroom & Flooring Remodel in Mission Viejo

Completed in August 2026, this Mission Viejo remodeling project combined a complete downstairs master bathroom transformation with new flooring through the hallway, bedroom, and closet.

We refreshed the visible finishes while also rebuilding the shower and Jacuzzi surround from the inside out. The result pairs crisp White Shaker cabinetry and Calacatta-style quartz with large-format porcelain tile, updated lighting, and warm wood-look vinyl flooring.

Downstairs Master Bathroom Remodel

The master bathroom was completely refreshed while preserving key features, including the existing Jacuzzi tub and toilet. Before demolition, we protected the path from the home’s entrance to the bathroom with floor coverings and plastic barriers where applicable, using soft tape against surrounding walls.

Custom Shower & Jacuzzi Surround

After removing the existing flooring, vanity, countertop, lights, shower glass, and shower, we framed a new non-walk-in shower with a dam and a shampoo niche where applicable. We installed the customer-provided single-function shower valve, a square drain, and hot-mopped the shower pan.

For the shower walls, we installed black paper and metal lath to an 84-inch height, then cement-floated and leveled the walls before installing the customer's 12x24 porcelain tile. Customer-provided porcelain tile completed the shower pan.

We also preserved the existing Jacuzzi tub. After disconnecting it for construction, we installed the customer-provided Jacuzzi valve and rebuilt the surrounding walls with black paper and metal lath up to 24 inches. The surround was cement-floated, leveled, and finished with customer-provided 12x24 porcelain tile before the Jacuzzi was reinstalled.

White Shaker Vanity & Calacatta Melaza Quartz

The new vanity area features 8.5 linear feet of Duko #02 White Shaker cabinetry topped with Genuine Materials Calacatta Melaza GQE022 quartz.

We installed two rectangular Trench sinks, two customer-provided faucets, and the selected vanity handles. A customer-provided mirror and two vanity lights complete the updated vanity area.

Porcelain Flooring, Lighting & Finishing Details

Customer-provided 24x24 porcelain tile was installed throughout the bathroom floor. Lighting was upgraded with four new 6-inch LED can lights, while the electrical scope included a new GFCI on the left side of the vanity, a dimmer, and the specified switch replacements.

We reinstalled the toilet and installed the customer-provided shower trims along with the selected shower glass door. Drywall was completed where needed, and approximately 24 linear feet of new baseboard was installed.

To finish the room, we painted the walls, ceiling, bathroom door, door casing, and baseboards for a cohesive final appearance.

New Flooring Through the Hallway, Bedroom & Closet

The second part of this Mission Viejo remodel focused on creating a more consistent floor through the hallway, bedroom, and closet.

Floor Preparation & GemCore Vinyl

After protecting the work path, we removed the flooring from the hallway, bedroom, and closet. The closet doors were carefully removed and saved for reinstallation.

Floor preparation included 20 bags of self-leveler to create a properly leveled surface. We then installed GemCore Jasper Collection vinyl in Brunea, item #REWGC20JSBR, throughout the selected areas.

New baseboards were installed and painted using customer-provided paint, and the existing/customer-provided closet doors were reinstalled to complete the flooring project.

A Fresh, Cohesive Mission Viejo Remodel

This project brought together the details that make a bathroom feel finished with the construction methods that help it perform long-term—from hot-mop waterproofing and cement-floated shower walls to custom cabinetry, quartz, porcelain tile, improved lighting, and carefully leveled flooring.

The new GemCore flooring extends that refreshed feeling beyond the bathroom, giving the hallway, bedroom, and closet a more connected finish.
